Favourites for victory as ever are the libera class, 13 metres with 12-13 persons at the trapeze.

The winner of the Gorla Troph,y which took place last Sunday was the Libera Clandesteam whose skippers Oscar TONOLI and Michele IVALDI were also the skipper of “Luna Rossa”. Second was the yacht “Principessa” followed by Jo RICHARDS Full Pelt.

During the second part of the race, because of the stark wind and of the bad weather conditions, many yachts capsized and some skippers have been forced to go to the hospital; someone else has been helped by the Coast guard. A great number of the many participants of the Gorla Trophy and among them the real favourites will take part in the Centomiglia.

On saturday in the afternoon there will be radio links in the place of Bogliaco where the race will start and finish. The 53ª Centomiglia will begin at 8.30 a.m. from the harbour in Bogliaco. The course of the race will be: Torbole (Trento), Acquafresca e Brenzone (Verona) and the south part of the lake with the two mark passages in Desenzano and Manerba (for the small yachts).
