Qualification Races Start as Croatians Dominate

470 Junior World Championship
Lake Neuiesdl

Qualification started yesterday at the event with three races in both groups. It proved to be a dominant day for the young Croatian sailors with Sime FANTELA and Igor MARENIC scoring three firsts.
Northwesterly wind brought a sudden fall in temperature and pouring rain in Austria and the 73 teams from 23 nations set off for the first day in excellent wind conditions.

A force two starting breeze for race one built to a steady force four by the time the second and third races started and with it the Croatian teams are leading both fleets.

Other favourites for the titles Nathan Outteridge and Ayden MENZIES (AUS) are still in respectable positions, as are the Italian pairing of Enrico FONDA and Igor BUCHBERGER.
