Appendix P
The Racing Rules Working Party has written a new version of Appendix P in Sailing Instruction format that can be used at any event by a simple sailing instruction. We called it ‘SI Appendix P’ in order to minimise confusion, especially for competitors. We have now used this new version as the 49er/29er World Championship and Sail Melbourne without problems and with the support of all the classes sailing.

AddendumQ - Addendum to Sailing Instructions for Umpired Fleet Racing
Under rule 86.2 and Regulation 31.1.3, the ISAF has approved the use of these sailing instructions as an addendum to the sailing instructions in World Championship Grade, Grade 1 and Grade C1 events in 2007 for umpired fleet racing in the last race of each series for the Olympic classes. Similar events are also encouraged to use the addendum. This can be done under rule 86.3 if the national authority prescribes that rule changes are allowed for the purpose of development and testing. Please note that the national authority may prescribe that such changes require its approval. Events that use this addendum are requested to provide feedback to the ISAF to support further development. Click here to download.
Experimental Appendix Q for Umpired Fleet Racing Rules
UMPIRED FLEET RACING RULES Experimental Appendix Q Umpired Fleet Racing Rules In November 2004 the ISAF Council decided to place Experimental Appendix Q, Umpired Fleet Racing Rules, on the ISAF website together with a questionnaire for umpires, chief umpires and competitors using the appendix to comment to the ISAF. The aim of this appendix is to have all boat-vs.-boat protests decided at the time of the incident. This appendix is only recommended for small or moderate-size fleets of one-design boats or boats of similar size and speed. There should be at least one umpire boat for every six boats racing.
