ISAF Beppe Croce Trophy

His Majesty King Olav V of Norway was awarded the inaugural ISAF Beppe Croce Trophy in 1988.

The Beppe Croce Trophy, presented to the IYRU by Federazione Italiana de Vela in memory of Beppe Croce, President of the IYRU from 1969 to 1986 is dedicated: “In memory of a lifetime’s dedication to yachting”.

This prestigious award is for an individual who has made a voluntary outstanding contribution to the sport of yachting.

His Majesty King Olav V of Norway won a gold medal in sailing at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam and remained an active sailor into old age. He was an ISAF President of Honour from 1958-1991.
