Home Sailors Make The Running
Ladies Only Match Race 2005
Hamburg, Germany
Heavy winds dominated the second day of the ISAF Grade 2 Ladies Only Match Race on the Lake Alster in Hamburg, Germany. The eleven international teams had to sail without spinnakers nearly all day as the wind got up to 20 knots in the gusts, making for rapid manoeuvring on the fast and flexible Streamline keelboats. Two home sailors have already qualified for the semi finals along with the undefeated Josie GIBSON (GBR).
Almost the whole round robin was completed yesterday with Britain’s
GIBSON, home sailor Silke
HAHLBROCK (GER) and Yngling sailor Ulrike
SCHÜMANN (GER) leading the fleet and having secured qualification for today’s semi finals. The fourth team will be decided this morning in the final round robin races between Suzanne
WILLIM (GER), Camilla
ULRIKKEHOLM (DEN) and Malin
KÄLLSTRÖM (SWE).
