NEUGODNIKOV Storms Into The Semis

Sopot Match Race 2005
Sopot, Poland

28 matches were completed yesterday at the ISAF Grade 1 Sopot Match Race and the four teams who will go through to the semi-finals are decided.
Eugene NEUGODNIKOV (RUS) had a perfect day winning all seven of his matches whilst his countryman Andrew ARBUZOV (RUS) who went into the quarter finals with a perfect 9-0 score could not maintain his form. ARBUZOV lost four matches yesterday, to WILLIAMS, NEUGODNIKOV, KADELBACH and MEISTER.

WILLIAMS' win over ARBUZOV is one of five he claimed yesterday to finish the quarter finals with a 5-2 record, having lost to NEUGODNIKOV and MINIPRIO. The fourth sailor to make it to the semi-finals is the young Kiwi skipper Laurie JURY who at just 22 years of age is already showing his class around the circuit
