Tough Day Sees the Defending Champion Defeated

Trofeo Challenge Roberto Trombini 2005
Marina di Ravenna, Italy

After a long and tough day at sea in Marina di Ravenna, with bad weather, rain and wind from 5 to 30 knots, XI Trofeo Challenge Roberto Trombini has completed the Round Robin to qualify eight skippers to the Quarter Finals.

Ian WILLIAMS (GBR) defeated James SPITHILL (AUS) the defending champion in the last flight and became the winner of the Round Robin.

The first four skippers eliminated from Trombini 2005 are: Matteo SIMONCELLI (ITA), Roberto FERRARESE (ITA), Santiago LOPEZ VAZQUEZ (ESP) and Luc PILLOT (FRA).

The folllowings are the couple for the Quarter Finals

Ian WILLIAMS (GBR) Vs. Bjorn HANSEN (SWE)
James SPITHILL (AUS) Vs. Sten Mohr (DEN)
Paolo Cian (ITA) Vs. Flavio Favini (ITA)
Ben Ainslie (GBR) Vs. Sebastien Col (FRA).

First to win two match will proceed to the Semifinals, that will starts in the same day of Saturday 2nd July.
