To Be Included As Part Of China Coast Race Week

Hong Kong To Vietnam Race

Following the success of the 2004 VinaCapital Hong Kong to Vietnam Race, the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club is pleased to announce that the next Hong Kong to Vietnam Race will be run as a constituent event of its 2006 China Coast Race Week. The race will commence on Wednesday 25th October 2006, after completion of the China Coast Regatta, taking place 20th to 22nd October 2006.

This thrilling 656nm downhill has only been held twice before, with the race record being set by Grant Wharington's 'Skandia' in October 2004 in a time of 42 hours 45 minutes and 41 seconds, setting an almost unassailable standard for future competitors.

The RHKYC has vast experience in organising ocean races and it is expected that this event will attract a large international entry from Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Philippines, Singapore and Hong Kong.
